More stable image upload thanks to direct studio feedback
Background
On Thursday, a studio reached out to me directly via WhatsApp Business.
The feedback was clear and honest:
Customers at the studio were experiencing problems uploading their ID images.
The upload was not working reliably or appeared to simply freeze.
This kind of feedback is extremely valuable. Not from statistical reports or anonymous logs, but directly from real studio operations.
That is exactly where TattooMate needs to work – not under ideal conditions, but on real devices, with real customers, on real internet connections.
The cause
The analysis showed that the previous upload technically worked, but had two critical weaknesses:
- No visible feedback during the upload
- No clear progress indicator for the customer
- Uploads appeared "frozen" even though they were still running in the background
- Particularly problematic with:
- slow Wi-Fi connections
- mobile devices
- larger images from modern smartphones
This caused uncertainty for customers – and in the worst case, abandoned forms.
The solution
The entire image upload was rebuilt from scratch.
TattooMate now uses an upload method with:
Real-time progress indicator
Customers now see directly:
- Upload in progress
- Progress in percent
- Clear visual feedback
No more guessing whether anything is happening.
More stable transfer
The upload process has been made more robust, especially for:
- mobile devices
- tablets in the studio
- slow or unstable internet connections
Uploads no longer appear to stop or get stuck.
Clear status feedback
After the upload, it is immediately clear:
- Image successfully saved
- or
- Error clearly visible
No more ambiguous states.
Why updates like this matter
TattooMate is not built in a vacuum.
It is built directly from real studio operations.
When a studio reports a problem, it is not added to a list and dealt with eventually.
It is analyzed and solved.
That is exactly how software needs to work when it is used in real operations every day.
